We were exploring options to build an ADU for our home in Campbell when I came across APEX Homes’ banner at one of their neighborhood projects. I later attended one of their educational workshops — the team were incredibly knowledgeable and made the entire process much clearer and easier to understand.

The team walked me through everything — design, permitting, construction, and costs — and even did a site visit, where they discovered an underground electrical easement I wasn’t even aware of. Fortunately, with the help of the architect team, we were still able to design an ADU that fits our property.

One thing that really stood out was how the team educated me on SB9. I had no idea that I could potentially split my lot, build a larger unit, and sell one of the homes in the future. That option definitely caught my attention — it means I could pay off my mortgage and still have the ability to add one more ADU to each lot down the road. It completely changed the way I think about using my property.

Since APEX is on Campbell’s ADU pre-approved list, the process has moved efficiently, and we expect to start construction in about a month.
